My Montreal shows & reviews

I had the great pleasure of taking my Marysia’s The Singing Psychic Game Show to Montreal Fringe Festival June 2024. As always, I loved Montreal—one of the coolest cities in the world in my opinion—and it was fantastic to not only do some fabulous packed gigs but also to get to enjoy Montreal in the summertime, including bike riding along the canal, hiking through Mont Royal, and looking at all the great street art there, including the Leonard Cohen ones. Plus the food was fabulous.

Helped by all the fantastic audience members who turned up in droves to my show, The Singing Psychic Game Show was a smash hit! Packed-out shows, including even the midnight ones, made the festival an electrifying experience. To top it all off, I was honoured to be nominated for two awards: Outstanding Comedy Show in English and Prix De Creativité!

The critics agreed—this was one unforgettable fun experience.

Are you ready for an exceptional experience? Straight from the vibrant streets of Edinburgh and Adelaide, England.  The Singing Psychic Game Show is making its Canadian premiere at the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival, running from June 7-16 at Mainline Theatre. This is your chance to be a part of something truly special and fun!

The Singing Psychic promises an evening filled with glitzy 70s-style games and prizes, toe-tapping tunes, and exciting prizes. Meet Marysia Trembecka, the creative force and performer behind the show. Marysia knows how to captivate audiences with her blend of comedy and uncanny psychic accuracy.

Get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions as The Singing Psychic reveals the melodies in your heart, dispenses relationship advice, and probes life’s deepest questions. And let’s not forget the main attraction – her spookily accurate (and utterly bonkers) audience readings! It’s brilliantly bananas, and you won’t want to miss it.`

Expect a jam-packed lineup of fabulous team games, including psychic Jenga, psychic bingo, audience readings, freeze dance, and her very own wheel of fortune. Each show is a unique experience filled with audience interaction and improvised hilarity that’ll leave you in stitches.  And remember, as The Singing Psychic herself says, ” she’s always right! “ So, buy y’

Stuart Nulman’s Grapevine raved: _“The late Dick Clark once said that ‘music is the soundtrack of your life.’ And that quote comes to life in a fun, quirky way in The Singing Psychic Game Show.

Hosted by the Singing Psychic, a flamboyant psychic who has a passion for Top 40 pop music of the past and present, she uses that passion to its fullest extent, as she divides the audience into four separate teams in a spirited competition filled with psychic readings, quirky contests, and offbeat prizes. This show played to sold out crowds at the Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe festivals, and the energy and enthusiasm that’s generated throughout the hour is vivid proof why. And based on my personal experience during the show I attended, her personal psychic readings based on pop music (you have the choice of having your reading done through your birthday or selecting four tarot-like cards) are remarkably accurate and dead on.

The Singing Psychic Game Show is not only the most fun you will have in the space of an hour, it will also make you realize something: all those years that were spent listening to top 40 radio stations and buying all those records certainly did not go to waste!”

Forget The Box called it “a perfect blend of fun, reflection, and a touch of the mystical, making it an unforgettable experience.”

“The Singing Psychic kicked off the evening with a bold proclamation: “I am always right.” Judging by the audience’s reactions when she gave them birthday or card readings, I have no doubt about her accuracy. She even offered me a private reading after the show—unaware that I am currently going through the most sorrowful, gut-wrenching lesbian breakup. Her reading was “spookily accurate,” to quote the show’s review, leaving me both amazed and introspective.

Marysia Trembecka, the mastermind behind both the playwriting and direction of her show, graced the stage with a whimsical and inviting presence that instantly put the audience at ease. She showcased some impressive dance moves and encouraged everyone to let loose. As a dancer myself, albeit a very shy one, Trembecka made me feel safe and seen, even when grooving to ’70s jams..

If you enjoy interactive games, a diverse and lively audience, and the guidance of a wise, humorous, and captivating lady who seems to know everything about you, then this is the show for you. Remember, she is ALWAYS right, so if she offers you advice, take it to heart—I know I will be journaling her insights immediately! This show is a perfect blend of fun, reflection, and a touch of the mystical, making it an unforgettable experience.”

And from Montreal Rampage: _“Renowned as the toast of Edinburgh and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, Marysia Trembecka, aka The Singing Psychic, entertained the Mainline audience with glittering ’70s-style games, funky tunes, and small witty prizes.

What begins as a personal journey of Marysia Trembecka develops into a theatre experience filled with laughter, participation, and pop songs. Divided in teams, the audience was entertained for an hour with songs, freeze dancing, and high competition!

Marysia knows how to work a crowd and before you know it, everyone is on their feet to dance with each other, to hold poses, and to compete in hilarious tasks.

After each show, everyone got a card with the title of their song to guide them through the month. A surprising and fun experience!”_

Montreal Times listed The Singing Psychic Game Show as one of their must-see Fringe shows, standing alongside some of the best performances in the festival.

Thanks everyone for coming, every show the audience was so much fun

I also had the fantastic opportunity to DJ before many of my shows and even performed a special DJ set at one of the legendary MainLine late-night parties, bringing even more energy and music to the festival atmosphere!
