The Backstage Tour: Immersive theatre show with Ronnie Ancona
Last week I did some immersive theatre for the opening of the Hoxton Holborn hotel. It was a one off special directed by Simon Evans (Secret Cinema, Old Vic and the Donmar) and I got to work with Ronnie Ancona which was a real treat.
The show which was written by Amy Gadney used the entire hotel as sets and the VIPs who got dragged into our show included Richard Curtis (Four Weddings) and Tim Bevan (Working Title). The all female production team at A and B Productions were a pleasure to work with of Amy, Isabella Macfearson and Karen Malacarne.
Acting can often be not the glamorous profession people think but the after party of floating canapés, free flowing champagne and truly amazing cocktails was the best party I have been to in a good while. The chilli infused tequila cocktails were off the charts and I don’t even like tequila!
Some pics from the set. I was playing a deliberately vain, spoilt rich Eastern European hence the dodgy character selfie below!
